Who Is Stabhilithi aka King Fendas
Sibekezelo Bheka Mvubu popularly known as Stabhilithi was born in Hluhluwe, Emdletsheni in Kwa Zulu Natal (KZN) and later relocated to Nongoma which is where his music journey began.
At a very tender age he started joining music groups in Nongoma with his first ever music group to join being, Nongoma Gospel Music Group. Gospel music might be where Stabhilithi began his music career but it’s surely was not where he would end, as he went on to explore music genres like, Afro pop, and now doing Maskandi music.
During his Gospel Music days, Stabhilithi had an honor to be produced by none other than the late Maskandi Legend Babu Mfaz’ Omnyama and after the passing of Babu Mfaz’ Omnyama the gospel group started facing challenges.
The challenges of his gospel music group in 2005 led him to further explore other music genres and that is when he bought his first guitar from money he made as a part-time motor mechanic at the time. Just like many Maskandi legends who taught themselves how to play the guitar, Stabilithi is no different.
The talented self-taught guitarist went on to release his debut Maskandi album in 2005 titled “Izinkomo zobaba” and he admits the album was hugely influenced by his late producer Babu Mfaz’ Omnyama, may his soul rest in peace.
In 2011 he was part of the provincial auditions in South Coast KZN representing Zululand District where he won as a result, he was selected to perform at the biggest Maskandi festival stage of the time and still today known as Impucuzeko.
2011 proved to be a great year for Stabhilithi because in that same year, he released his second album titled “Wamuhle Umuntu”. The album was produced by “David” the legendary Sound engineer who recorded the likes of the late Babu Bhekumuzi Luthuli who was one of Maskandi greats in his own right.
2012 was the year Stabhilithi finally got his breakthrough in the music industry when he was invited by SABC 1 to shoot a traditional music show called Roots. His song titled “Wamuhle” was the song that gave him overnight popularity, one can say that was his hit song that opened many doors for him. It is after that breakthrough that he was no longer just a regular artist but now a celebrity artist because immediately after that, he started getting bookings, bought his first car and even built a house for his family.
2014 he was awarded “Best performance award” at MTN SAVA awards
2020 he released another one of his hit songs which further stamped his authority in maskanda music scene titled “Ngisosuke ngiyiveze”
Fast forward to 2021 Stabhilithi release a single titled “My Yonkinto” in it he featured Mzukulu.
In 2022 he continued where he left off and released “Yamnandi ntshebe” and “Ama push up” and both these singles became national anthems as they were well received by the public.
Today Stabhilithi is a house hold name in the Maskandi music and music industry as a whole and has performed in many big stages over the year and released countless hits that his many fans enjoys.
